I've done several styles of clocks...the clocks themselves come in several sizes. These make a great addition to your curio cabinet.

This Rocking chair was scroll sawed from solid Oak, and was hand painted, and given three coats of a clear spray varnish.

This clock is made from mahogany, so it's got a little weight to it. This clock can be made from any sort of wood, but I find hard wood is probably better and will hold up over the long run.

This clock was painted then set on the base for display. It was made from curly maple but again, it can be made from any kind of wood you'd like.
